Alongside corporate training and consultancy, Mark works in private practice as a psychotherapist and counsellor trained in transactional analysis, complex trauma and EMDR. He set up Mind’s counselling service in south west London which bridged the gap for those that were deemed too high risk or complex for the NHS but were not risky enough to be detained under the mental health act, supporting suicidal risk and complex presentations.

Mark co-designed and delivered the “Trauma and Bereavement” training for those impacted by the Grenfell tragedy and Mind’s core mental health and emotional intelligence workshops delivered nationally. He has delivered a number of clinical workshops on “Working with Suicidal Clients” to year four MSc trainee psychotherapists at the Minster Centre in London and regularly talks to employees, managers and leaders on “Suicide Prevention and Awareness”.

Testimonials

“We have been working with Mark and his team now for well over a year, helping us tackle a variety of challenges ranging from our senior leadership team through to colleagues on the ground working in some mentally demanding roles. The ability of Strategic Wellbeing to adapt to our needs is what makes the real difference, with colleagues better understanding concepts when explained in the context of the situations they face. Turning the theory into practical ways to help ensures our colleagues can use what they learn to really make an impact, which is the feedback we get every time. I would thoroughly recommend Strategic Wellbeing and look forward to working with them further in the future.”

“The University of London is committed to staff mental health and wellbeing. With Mark and his team, we developed a three tiered strategic, whole of organisation program. Each program’s content was tailored to match their role and responsibility of the management level and to build each tiers’ understanding of the role they played in managing staff mental health. Sessions included useful information and practical tips. As part of the program, an informative report was provided with a good summary of issues discussed, an analysis of the survey responses and recommendations for the next steps. The approach was holistic and well targeted. I would recommend Mark and his competent team to help any university who values their staff and the benefits of managing mental health in their organisation.“

“We partnered with Mark and the Strategic Wellbeing team to develop our mental health and wellbeing curriculum across SAGE UK. They provided expert consultation around our policy development and created a comprehensive mental health programme to ensure our managers and employees were equipped and comfortable having conversations around mental health. Mark and the team are incredibly skilled at creating a safe space and shining a light on potentially difficult and challenging content in a way that is easy to digest, engaging and that makes an impact. As a result we are seeing a significant difference, mental health conversations have become more normalised and our employees feel their wellbeing is being prioritised. I would highly recommend the Strategic Wellbeing team, they are experts in their field and they continue to be a valued partner of SAGE Publishing.“
