Overview

In this masterclass we learn how L&D and HR professionals can change a culture through best practice mental health and workplace wellbeing programmes and initiatives.

We will demystify the subject of mental health, gain awareness around our responsibilities and gain access to frameworks used by leading global businesses.

Mark Hashimi

Director of Strategic Wellbeing

Mark, having previously held a number of senior management positions over the last fifteen years, has significant experience managing mental health and wellbeing, as former head of workplace wellbeing at Mind, (Hammersmith/Fulham), as director of Strategic Wellbeing, as a psychotherapist, trainer, public speaker, and from his own personal experiences. Prior to working in mental health, Mark worked in credit for 10 years as senior credit manager at EDF Energy. Responsible for banking £3.2bn PA through a recession and burning out himself, he understands the pressures managers/employees can face.

Mark now works closely/partners with Capita, COS Stores, Bloomberg, H&M, University of London, WPP Group, Ogilvy, Hiscox, BBC Worldwide, Cabinet Office, AIG Insurance, Met Police, NHS, Sage Publishing, Usborne, to name a few. Mark facilitates bespoke mental health sessions with a strong focus on proactive intervention and long-term sustainability, challenging stigma and effective communication, promoting and embedding values into the workplace that facilitate health, inclusion, connection and belonging.

Mark takes an “end-to-end” approach to wellbeing strategy implementation when working with clients; he is experienced in reviewing, enhancing and writing mental health policy and embedding wellbeing strategy to facilitate cultural change.

Alongside corporate training and consultancy, Mark works in private practice as a psychotherapist and counsellor trained in transactional analysis, complex trauma and EMDR. He set up Mind’s counselling service in south west London which bridged the gap for those that were deemed too high risk or complex for the NHS but were not risky enough to be detained under the mental health act, supporting suicidal risk and complex presentations.

Mark co-designed and delivered the “Trauma and Bereavement” training for those impacted by the Grenfell tragedy and Mind’s core mental health and emotional intelligence workshops delivered nationally. He has delivered a number of clinical workshops on “Working with Suicidal Clients” to year four MSc trainee psychotherapists at the Minster Centre in London and regularly talks to employees, managers and leaders on “Suicide Prevention and Awareness”.
